With 10 mix tapes to his credit, US-based Ghanaian rapper Smalls certainly is perfecting his rapping skills for a gradual emergence on the hip-hop scene. Born Joseph ‘Nakwesi’ Andoh in Worcester, MA, Smalls has been rapping since age 15 when he did his first ‘show’ at an outdoor battle of the bands showcase.

Although the rapper doesn’t have an official album yet he’s been extremely prolific on his 10 mix tapes all with an average of 14 tracks. He has also participated on two underground albums with a group of unknown artists during his school days as well as two live radio CDs which was essentially him and a group of artists rapping live on air for 2 hours. His mix tapes include: Smalls & Stretch, Gyname, Throwback, Flocation, Justice, The Briefing I, The Briefing II—special report, A.D.D (Afrikan. Dun. Did-It), Watch Out, Smalls Reloaded (best of pt 1), Radio Cypha part I & II. The other albums are Black Eyce and Black Eyce B.T.T.B (back to the beginning).

Already drawing comparisons to New York hip hop maestro, Jay Z due to similarities in style, Smalls draws a lot of influences from Jay Z himself and other hip hop royalties. His music, music videos as well as several updates are available mainly his page www.myspace.com/smallsjustnice. There will soon be an official website which would fully provide more of Smalls sounds, pictures and videos as well.

Jamati Online caught up with the talented rapper to find out more about his music, influences, inspirations and aspirations.

MediaTakeOut.com learned that on Bravo’s hit show Watch What Happens Live, Tyson Beckford EXPOSED his inner feelings of gayness towards the President. A caller called into host Andy Cohen and asked Tyson What man would [Tyson] want to be with?
And this is an excerpt of what happened from there:

Tyson: Well I don’t actually go that way … but I noticed a lot of people think I do. It would have to be Barack Obama … I would be the one in control . . . well who did you think I was gonna say? Will Smith?? There is just something about Barack Obama …
Andy: Oh my God, Tyson would sodomize Obama
Tyson: And I’d have Michelle hold the camera.

We think its very disrespectful for this ZESTIFUL dude to start talking about doing gay stuff to the President.

“Nigger,” says Berend McKenzie and unfurls his right arm away from his body, palm slightly open.

“Fag,” he says in the same matter-of-fact tone, this time uncoiling his left arm.

“I know. They make me uncomfortable. They make me angry. Welcome to my world.”

“As a child,” he explains, “I realized I had [these] two things working against me, and both would determine the course I took in life.”

With that quietly explosive prologue, the slightly built McKenzie-as-Buddy relentlessly unleashes his lifelong collision with the historical power that the words nigger and fag have been infused.

Nggrfg is a one-man, hour-long performance of four vignettes — Liner; Oh, Brother; Father, by the way; and Tassles. They mark pivotal periods in McKenzie’s life when those two words, either separately or together, have elicited deep shame, grief and terror of the private and public kind.

He weaves the tale non-linearly, morphing seamlessly and assertively into the different personae that make up his life’s trajectory. At first, he’s a 16-year-old mouse of a teen desperately trying to be anything but his obviously gay self, as he vies for the affection of the edgy, mohawk-sporting girlfriend of his high school dreams. With her on his arm, he thinks, his street cred would skyrocket. His predatory schoolmates won’t call him fag anymore.

Fast forward, and he’s 40, a frustrated actor battling entertainment industry stereotypes — and the grating ignorance of his own agent — about the roles black men can play and how they should play them.

Life is anything but a “drag” for screen legend Elizabeth Taylor. The classy dame has been passing her once restless days with the high-energy hijinks of over-the-top gender bender RuPaul.

Elizabeth has fallen in love with Ru’s Logo reality show, RuPaul’s Drag Race, which the 77-year-old gleefully calls “the funniest show on TV.”

“RuPaul is her new obsession,” a Hollywood spy reveals in the Aug. 31 issue of The National Enquirer. “She can’t get enough of the drag queens!”

Elizabeth loves the show so much that she recently mailed RuPaul a thank you letter and an autographed photo. It was Liz’s hairdresser, celebrity mane man Jose Eber, who first introduced the Cleopatra star to the television
drag competition, which sees contestants dressed as women competing in a series of challenges for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”

“Liz claps when the drag queens she’s picked win,” the spy claims.

Friends close to Elizabeth credit the show with helping the actress cope with a variety of emotional and health issues, including chronic pain, limited mobility, and grief over the recent death of her dear friend Michael Jackson.

“These days there’s not a whole lot that makes her happy, so to see her light up watching a bunch of guys dressed as women is a kick. Liz can be moaning in pain from her various aliments, but then she has a staffer a pop in one of the RuPaul shows and suddenly she starts to laugh.”
